Snickerdoodles

1 c soft shortening
1.5 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 t. salt
2 & 3/4 c sifted flour
2 t cream of tarter
1 t soda

mix shortening, sugar and eggs
combine remaining ingredients together, then add to shortening mixture.
chill dough in fridge for 1 hour
roll into walnut size balls and dip in a mixture containing 2 T sugar and 2 t cinnamon each
place 2 inches apart on un-greased sheet and bake @ 400 for 8-10 min
or until lightly browned but still soft
