Aunt Lois' Beef Stew

1-1.5 lbs beef for stew
~2 lbs carrots
~3 cups flour--enough to coat beef
~8 potatoes
oil-enough to cover bottom of pan
2 medium onions
1 cube knorr chicken bouillon
1 cube knorr beef bouillon
celery (opt)
water
1/2 t thyme
1/2 tsp taragon
1 t basil
salt

heat oil in pot
coat beef w/ flour
brown in oil-all sides
add enough water to cover
put in bouillon
spices
let simmer while preparing veggies
1st carrots, potatoes, onions-let simmer 1 hour
stir occasionally adding water as needed
salt to taste
