Cloud Biscuits

1/2 t cream of tartar
2 T sugar
4 t baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 c flour
1 beaten egg
1/2 c shortening
2/3 c milk


sift the dry ingredients into bowl
cut in the shortening until like course crumbs
combine egg and milk and add dry ingredients
stir w/ fork til mixture follows it around bowl
turn out on a lightly floured board and knead for 20 strokes
roll out dough and cut into 2 inch biscuits
put in greased pan and bake 12-15 minutes
