Pecan Surprise Bars

Crust:

1 pkg. yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3 c for filling)

1/2 c melted margarine

1 egg

1 c chopped pecans

Filling:

2/3 c yellow cake mix

1/2 c brown sugar

1.5 c dark corn syrup

1 t vanilla

3 eggs

Grease 13"x9" pan.

Reserve 2/3 c cake mix for filling.

Combine remaining cake mix, butter & 1 egg.

Press into pan.

Bake at 350 (F) for 15-20 min (until light golden brown)

Pour filling over partially baked crust.

Sprinkle with pecans.

Bake for 30-35 min until filling is set.
